WHY IS GOD'S LOVE UNCONDITIONAL?

It  is  unconditional  because  this  is  the  only  way  we  can  get  it.  If  God’s  love  was conditional to our performance none of us would ever get it.

“And  it  shall  come  to  pass,  if  thou  shalt  hearken  diligently  unto  the  voice  of  the  LORD  thy God,  to  observe  and  to  do  all  his  commandments  which  I  command  thee  this  day,  that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth” Deut28:1

God’s  standard  is  perfection.  The  Law  did  not  require  us  to  do  the  best  we  could.  It  did not  require  us  to  get  80%  and  above.  The  Law  demanded  perfection.  You  had  to  obey  all of it and if you failed you were cursed.

“For  as  many  as  are  of  the  works  of  the  law  are  under  the  curse:  for  it  is  written,  Cursed is  every  one  that  continueth  not  in  all  things  which  are  written  in  the  book  of  the  law  to do them” Gal3:10

Even  when  you  broke  only  one  Law  you  were  guilty  of  breaking  all  of  them.  You  were  as filthy as someone who broke all of them because you weren’t perfect.
“For  whosoever  shall  keep  the  whole  law,  and  yet  offend  in  one  point,  he  is  guilty  of  all.  For  he  that  said,  Do  not  commit  adultery,  said  also,  Do  not  kill.  Now  if  thou  commit  no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.” Jam2:10-11

As  you  can  see  there  is  none  of  us  that  can  ever  qualify  or  deserve  the  Love  of  God  and the goodness of God. His love for us is unconditional. God  loves  you  because  you  are  His  child,  His  bride,  His  friend.  God  loves  you  because  He created you and  you belong to Him. God  created  you  to  have  a  loving  relationship  with  Him.  A  close  intimate  personal relationship  in  which  He  would  shower  and  fill  you  with  His  love  and  blessings  and goodness.

Ephesians  1:3-11  MSG
3  How  blessed  is  God!  And  what  a  blessing  he  is!  He's  the  Father  of  our  Master,  Jesus Christ, and  takes us to the high places of blessing  in  him.
4  Long  before  he  laid  down  earth's  foundations,  he  had  us  in  mind,  had  settled  on  us  as the focus  of  his love, to be made whole and holy by his love.
5  Long,  long  ago  he  decided  to  adopt  us  into  his  family  through  Jesus  Christ.  (What pleasure he took  in  planning  this!)
6  He  wanted  us  to  enter  into  the  celebration  of  his  lavish  gift-giving  by  the  hand  of  his beloved Son.
7  Because  of  the  sacrifice  of  the  Messiah,  his  blood  poured  out  on  the  altar  of  the  Cross, we're  a  free  people--free  of  penalties  and  punishments  chalked  up  by  all  our  misdeeds. And  not just  barely free, either. [Abundantly]  free!
8  He thought of everything, provided for everything  we could  possibly need,
9  letting  us  in  on  the  plans  he  took  such  delight  in  making.  He  set  it  all  out  before  us  in Christ,
10a  long-range  plan  in  which  everything  would  be  brought  together  and  summed  up  in him, everything  in  deepest heaven, everything  on planet earth.
11  It's  in  Christ  that  we  find  out  who  we  are  and  what  we  are  living  for.  Long  before  we first  heard  of  Christ  and  got  our  hopes  up,  he  had  his  eye  on  us,  had  designs  on  us  for glorious living God  created  us  for  love.

This  is  the  purpose  for  our  existence.  To  have  eternal  life.  And eternal  life  is  to  know  God.  To  experience  God  on  a  daily  basis.  To  have  an  intimate relationship with God.

“And  this  is  life  eternal,  that  they  might  know  thee  the  only  true  God,  and  Jesus  Christ, whom thou hast sent.” Jn17:3

God  was  not  interested  in  rules  and  regulations  and  sacrifices  and  religion.  This  is  not the  reason  for  which  He  created  us.  God  created  us  for  relationship,  for  love.  He  created us to give Him pleasure.

“Thou  art  worthy,  O  Lord,  to  receive  glory  and  honour  and  power:  for  thou  hast  created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Rev4:11

What  God  wanted  and  still  wants  from  us  is  a  relationship  of  love  that  gives  Him pleasure. All  that  God  does  for  us  flows  from  His  love  for  us  and  from  the  relationship  that  we have  with  Him.  If  you  want  the  quality  of  your  life  to  improve  and  to  experience  more healing  and  blessing  and  success  and  anointing  you  don’t  get  it  by  investing  in  more works.  You  get  it  by  investing  more  in  this  faith  relationship  of  love  that  we  have  with God.

God  gave  you  His  very  best  when  you  were  still  a  filthy  sinner.  When  you  were  His  blood sucking  enemy  He  gave  you  His  only  precious  son.  Do  you  expect  that  He  can  hold  back anything else?

“He  that  spared  not  his  own  Son,  but  delivered  him  up  for  us  all,  how  shall  he  not  with him also freely give us all things?” Rom8:32

We  received  Jesus  by  simply  believing  and  trusting  in  God’s  goodness  and  His  love  for  us. We  didn’t  first  try  to  earn  Him  by  praying,  fasting  forty  days,  tithing  and  so  forth.  We simply  believed  that  God  loved  us  enough  to  crucify  His  Son  for  us  and  we  just  received Him  as  a  free  gift.  This  is  the  way  God  wants  us  to  continue  with  the  rest  of  our  Christian walk with Him.

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him” Col2:6

The  same  way  we  received  Christ  at  the  beginning  is  the  way  we  should  continue.  We received  Christ  by  simple  faith  and  trust  in  God’s  love  and  goodness  towards  us.  This  is the way we should continue in Him.

Galatians 3:1-5
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it be] yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Paul  rebukes  the  Galatians for  going  away from this simple  truth.  They  received  Christ  by simply  believing  and  trusting  God.  This  is  the  same  way  they  received  the  baptism  of  the Holy Spirit and miracles from God.  But  now  they  had  fallen  back  into  legalism  and  thinking  that  they  could  earn  God’s goodness  and  acceptance  by  being  circumcised  and  living  a  holy  life.  Paul  told  them  that they  were  behaving  like  bewitched  people.  Like  stupefied  people.

And  yet  this  is  how most  Christians  and  churches  are  today.  They  think  God  loves  and  uses  them  because  of their holy living and good works.

“But  without  faith  it  is  impossible  to  please  him:  for  he  that  cometh  to  God  must  believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Heb11:6

Faith  is  the  only  thing  that  pleases  God.  Faith  is  the  only  way  we  can  experience  the  love and  goodness  of  God  in  our  lives.  God  loves  to  be  believed  and  trusted.  When  we  trust Him and depend on Him it pleases Him greatly. If  God  loved  you  when  you  hated  Him  and  were  His enemy much  more  does He  love  you now? Much more will He heal you, bless you, help you and do good to you. God  loves  you  because  He  is  love  and  good,  not  because  you  are  lovely  or  good.  God loves you because He is faithful to you, not because you are faithful to Him.
